"Ariana Richards possessed a love of traditional art at an early age. An internationally noted actress, known especially for her role as “Lex” in “Jurassic Park,” she went on to Skidmore College to earn a B.S. Degree in Fine Art and Drama, with distinction. She continued with instruction at Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, and has been mentored by some of the finest names in Contemporary Impressionist art.

Art has long been a tradition in her family. Her own genealogy can be traced back to the early Italian Renaissance with Carlo Crevelli, a contemporary of Botticelli. The tradition has been passed along through the generations to Ariana through her Italian grandmother, who was a professional oil painter. Ariana’s ongoing work shows the classical influence of the Old Masters, along with the dynamics of Impressionist artists, most notably Monet and Guy Rose. She also draws inspiration from John Singer Sargent, Anders Zorn, Joaquin Sorolla, and J.W. Waterhouse.

A strong advocate for the environment, Ariana believes that art can deepen our relationship with the natural world.

“If I could, I would take each viewer along to my favorite places along the seacoast or in the mountains, to the secret places of nature.”

Ariana speaks of her figurative work saying,

“I especially enjoy painting figures out of doors because of the beautiful, transient effects of sunlight on the subject.”

At age 25, Ariana is already an award-winning oil painter. Currently residing in Oregon, she is known for her plein-air landscapes as well as her evocative portraits and figure paintings. Ariana’s paintings have been exhibited internationally. Ariana also counts among her collectors local and international corporations. Ariana’s magazine credits include feature articles in national art magazines such as Southwest Art and American Artist including her art being showcased on the cover of American Artist magazine."
