Siberian born Aleksander Titovets  received a Masters in Fine Arts from St.Petersburg University College of Fine Arts, and developed classical art skills from the Russian School of Oil Painting. He has participated in competitions with the National Academy of Design, in New York and the Oil Painters of America. He won Best of Show in the International Fine Art Competition four years in a row among competitors in his region. For many years running, he has been selected as a guest artist for Great American Artists and Artists of America which honored him in 1998 with the Artist’s Choice Award.

Aleksander Titovets has found a number of American landscapes to paint in the years since he and his artist wife, Lyuba, came to this country, however, most of his recent works are still of his native land of Russia. His reserve of roughly 100 sketches, precious documents of earlier travels, have been the basis for his brilliant, nostalgia-colored creations.

Aleksander and his wife came to the United States about in 1992 from St. Petersburg, Russia. They settled in a west Texas town with only fifty dollars in their pocket and no long range plans, only a desire to paint professionally. They began by using their apartment balcony, one at a time, as their studio. The couple remains in  Texas where their community embraced the Russian family with warmth and encouragement. In 1999, they both became US citizens; their American-born daughters, are following their parents footsteps and beginning to paint
